You love the water; you are smitten by how it flows over you and gives you a feeling of light weightedness. You enjoy diving down in the pool and feeling the cool water rush all over your body. You see the sun in its distorted form, breaking the water’s surface and you are amused. Most of us love to be near water; after all we were formed in it, swimming around in our mother’s womb for nine months under water. It is cooling, refreshing and an activity that is associated with fond memories from childhood to adulthood.
When you are a child, it reminds you of a time when you were happy; in the coolness of the water and the warmth of your protective parents as they held you close and watched over you. As you grow, it is a time of bonding with your siblings and as you get into your teens, it can be moments of friendship and moments of excitement as well as love. As you grow older, you see it as a solace and an activity you can partake it with your own kids. Swimming is freedom; it is man’s answer to our limitations to join the birds in the sky.
